The postnatal period begins immediately after childbirth and continues until the uterus and reproductive organs return to their pre-pregnancy state, usually within 42 days. This stage is crucial for both mother and baby, as physical recovery and hormonal changes can also affect emotional well-being.
Our postnatal care focuses on:
Monitoring the mother’s recovery and overall health
Supporting breastfeeding and newborn care
Detecting complications early, especially in mothers with conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease
Providing emotional support and guidance for new mothers
For healthy mothers, home postnatal visits are usually carried out on days 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, and 20 after delivery. High-risk mothers may require more frequent visits for close observation and timely referral to a clinic or hospital if needed.
